If someone gives you a gift do you think you are obligated to give them a gift in return? Why?

If someone gives you a gift do you think you are obligated to give them a gift in return? Why?


A: Yes, I believe if someone gets you a gift, you should give them one back. It's like  a "I scratched your back, now you scratch mine" thing. It's only right that you return the love. Someone spent their time and money to get them a gift for you and you don't do the same. That just doesn't sound right.
